Most sponges are plastic foam — and every scrub wears a little of it off onto your plates. Frubby is plant cellulose, through and through.

  • Plant cellulose on both sides
  • Nothing plastic wears off onto your dishes

What’s in the pack

6 Frubby sponges: 2 apples, 2 guavas and 2 lemons. Each is about 9 × 8.6 cm (3.5 × 3.4 in), with a slot at the bottom for your faucet.

How to use it

  1. Wet the sponge and add a small drop of dish soap.
  2. Use the colorful soft side for plates and glasses, the white honeycomb side for pots and pans.
  3. Rinse and squeeze it out.
  4. Slide the slot over the neck of your faucet and let it drip dry into the sink.

Care

Rinse and squeeze after every wash and hang it on the faucet to dry. Swap to a fresh one every few weeks.

Shipping & 30-day promise

Free shipping on every order. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and usually arrive within 7–12 business days, with tracking by email.

The 30-Day Plastic-Free Promise: Plastic-free dishes and a sponge that stays fresh for 30 days — or your money back. Email us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund — nothing to send back.

Will it fit my faucet?

The slot slides over the neck of most standard kitchen faucets. If yours is unusually thick or square, Frubby still works as a normal sponge on a hook or the sink edge.

A worn yellow kitchen sponge with a green scrub pad, crumbling at the cornerSound familiar?
The sponge by your sink

Look at your old sponge.

See the corners that aren’t there anymore? Those crumbs didn’t disappear. Most kitchen sponges are polyurethane foam — a plastic — with a polyester scrub pad glued on top, and every time you scrub, a little of it wears away.

It ends up on the plates you eat from, the glasses you drink from, the forks that go straight into your mouth. You swapped the plastic containers for glass for a reason. The sponge touches every single one of them.

  • Plastic foam that crumbles as you scrub
  • Rinsed onto your dishes and down the drain
  • Sits wet in a puddle and turns sour

Questions

Good questions.

Is Frubby really plastic-free?

Yes. Both sides are plant cellulose — the colorful fruit side and the white honeycomb scrub side. There is no polyurethane foam and no polyester scrub pad in it, so what wears off as you wash is plant fiber, not plastic.

Does it scratch?

No. The soft side is for glasses, plates and bowls, and the honeycomb side scrubs pots, pans and non-stick without scratching them.

How do I keep it fresh?

Rinse it, squeeze it out and slide the slot over your tap. It drips into the sink and dries between washes instead of sitting in a puddle, so it doesn’t turn sour.

How long does one last?

Like any kitchen sponge, swap to a fresh one every few weeks. With 6 in every pack, there is always a fresh fruit waiting in the drawer.

What do I do when it’s worn out?

Put it in the compost. It’s plant cellulose, so snip it into small pieces and add it to your home compost instead of the bin.

What if I don’t love it?
